Before her dance career began, Vickie owned and operated her own hair salon, named, HEADQUARTERS Hair Salon. One of her hair clients was, Nashville song writer, Bill Kenner. He and Mark Wright co-wrote a song about Vickie's daily life. After hearing the song, country music star, Mark Chestnut, really liked the song and, much to everyone's surprise, chose to include it on his 1993, ALMOST GOODBYE, album. The song has been synonymous with Vickie's life and career ever since. The album would go on to produce four singles for Mark, including. "Woman, Sensuous Woman", which peaked at #21 on the Billboard charts and three more songs, "Sure Is a Monday", " I just Wanted You to Know" and "Almost Goodbye" all reached #1 on the billboard charts.
Vickie Vance Gotta Dance Mark Chestnut
Spinnin' those curlers round all day
Her little beauty shop provides a way
To work at home and sleep in late
So she can dance the night away
Pilot gotta fly-eagle gotta soar
Give a baby candy-gotta give it more
Cowboy gotta ride-gambler gotta chance
Vickie Vance gotta dance
Yeah Vickie Vance Gotta Dance
She can be dancin' to nothing at all
And she does a mean swing with the shadows on the wall
I bet she's done the two-step a million miles
Yeah, she drives all the boys on the dance floor wild
Pilot gotta fly-eagle gotta soar
Give a baby candy-gotta give it more
Cowboy gotta ride-gambler gotta chance
Vickie Vance gotta dance
Yeah, Vickie Vance Gotta Dance
Ooh, she can't stand still
Yeah, she's dancin' off the wall and dancin' on the window sill
Pilots gotta fly-eagle gotta soar
Give a baby candy-gotta give it more
Cowboy gotta ride-gambler gotta chance
Vickie Vance gotta dance
Yeah, Vickie Vance gotta dance
Yeah, Vickie Vance Gotta Dance........
